Description (Specifications)
The Sorority of Hygiea is a matriarchal state, with all interstellar leadership roles filled by women. The ruling class is composed entirely of elite female warriors sharing an extended familial lineage. The last male members of the line passed away centuries ago, and the family have used genetic engineering and cloning banks ever since to maintain their numbers.
- The populations of the worlds under the Sorority's control have a normal distribution of genders.
Sisters of the Sorority have a reputation for abruptness and pragmatism. They are warriors, trained from infancy in a broad range of martial skills. They observe a code that emphasises a duality of mind and strength. A strong will is needed to break a rock, as is a strong arm.

The Droyne that were in the Korsumug Empire fled to the polity and have formed a commensal society with the members of the Sorority.

Culture and Society
Individual Sisters do not have surnames, since they all share the same genetic pool. Instead they earn themselves a name, through achievement and though battle.
- Each Sister forges their own sword. It is a mark of their skill and ability and the nature of the blade is a reflection of their personality.
The Sorority rule their domain from vast private estates located on each member world. These estates all have a central fortress called a Hall of Sisters, as well as outlying facilities including private spaceport facilities.
- Each Hall has two distinct halves - a great forge where weapons and armor can be made, and a tended garden centered on sacred grove. Practical, solidly built buildings, including barracks, private chambers, training areas, storage and warehousing, and vehicle garages surround them.
- The interiors of private chambers and barracks are a complete contras to their drab and dour exteriors. They are a canvas upon which the Sisters are expected to express themselves, to display their taste and culture.

The Hygiean Fleet defends the state and is divided between four Naval Bases.
- Hygiean Fleet Command also controls the Hygiean Army and the Hygiean Marines.
