Nathin-Solua System

The primary is Nathin, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.886 Sols, a mass of 0.98 Sols, and a diameter of 1.391 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum inner world, and (II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (III) Solua orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a thin atmosphere stormworld, (V) a large gas giant, (VI) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (VII) a ringed large gas giant, and (VIII) a small gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

(III) Solua

(III) Solua is designated the mainworld. It orbits Nathin at a mean distance of 0.57 AU (85.3 million km), just within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 158 days 19 hours and a rotation period of 34 hours. The axial tilt is 25 degrees. Solua has a diameter of 14,897 km, a density of 6.62 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.40 G. The world is geologically very active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 1.21 bar and a composition of 88% nitrogen (N₂), 10% oxygen (O₂), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% carbon dioxide (CO₂), water vapor (H₂O), ozone (O₃), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by very low percentage of atmospheric oxygen. Approximately 94% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.75m. Mean surface temperature: 2°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Cool and experiences minor seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is very active and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the oceans surge across the globe.

Native Lifeforms

Nathin-Solua System

Solua, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal. Much of the life found on the world is aquatic.

The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV) (within the H+ region of the outer system) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.

Solua has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

Solua possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.
