Solomani Home Guard

The Solomani Home Guard are the reserve and planetary defense forces of the Solomani Confederation.

Description / Specifications

The Home Guard includes part-time citizen warriors and retired veterans. The primary mission of the Home Guard is the defense of the individual worlds in the event of invasion. The Home Guard also perform missions on their own worlds.

A planet’s Home Guard is liable for activation by the Confederation military for missions or assignments. The mobilization of planetary Home Guards for off planet service requires that the Secretary General propose and the Secretariat then ratify a general mobilization through either a declaration of war or a state of emergency.

The Home Guard institution was created following the Solomani Rim War as part of a complete reorganization of the Confederation military. The primary goal was to ensure that every world in the Confederation could defend itself, but a secondary but still important goal was to provide additional funds and jobs for demobilized Confederation soldiers.
