Skanor has an excellent starport with shipyards able of handling starships up to the Overhaul level, and provides Refined fuel. The main world is roughly 10,000 kilometers in diameter, and is a Medium terrestrial. The atmosphere has a pressure of 0.95 atmospheres. The atmosphere is a standard oxygen/nitrogen mix, which is breathable without assistance. The surface is roughly 40 percent surface water, which qualifies it as a Wet world world. The main world has a general population of approximately 1,000,000 local residents, which qualifies it as a Moderate population world. The local government is characterized as Charismatic Dictator, with government by a single leader enjoying the confidence of the citizens. Visitors may find the law moderately restrictive as all firearms except shotguns are regulated or restricted by local authorities. Technology is described as Imperial Maximum

He left the [[Anniversary Sector]] in the year [[619]], at the heights of the {{Imperial}} [[Civil War]] and the [[Second Frontier War]], with three huge transport ships, 'The Captains Bathtub', 'Star Goat' and 'Telephone Sanitizer', and a collection of jump probes. The transport ships contained thousands of humans who felt that the [[Third Imperium]] was no longer a place that they wanted to live. Feeling their way coreward they covered 4 sectors in a 2 year journey, and arrived at a suitable planet which was called Skanor in his honour. There are now 11 planets in the Skania Pact, which is a loose alliance of independently governed planets in the sector.<br>

Bart Skanos decreed that the world would be not become a polluted, highly industrial world, and so decided an alternative planet would be found for industry. They had brought with them the parts for a J2 scout ship, and after it was re-assembled, and then after several years of searching the local stars for a suitable one, an industrial base was set up on [[Preet (world)]].

Skanor is an agricultural, nonindustrial, and pre-rich garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to incrementally rise barring outside forces. The world will grow even quicker when its industrial sector begins to develop.
  • This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Rigel Subsector of Rigel Sector.
  • This world has an exploration base, which is similar to an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling explorer personnel and exploratory starships.

World starport

Skanor has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World technology level

Skanor possesses a Technology Level of TL–15 or TL-F in Hexadecimal Notation.

World government

Skanor is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are young governments, coming as a recent change and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.

World Law Level

Skanor has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
