The Sidurii of Sidur Ishki (Gushemege 1234) are a technologically advanced Minor Non-Human Race with a semi-humanoid appearance.
Description (Specifications)
They are bipeds with four toes (two being much larger and opposed) and with three fingers on each hand (no opposed digit). They have large eyes but have limited color vision. Their small noses are slits over a beak-like mouth. Sidurii have no appreciable ears (having a very fine membrane over most of the ear opening) although their hearing is good. Their skin shows the remnants of many small scales which have almost been lost during their evolution. Sidurii are relatively light, mainly as a result of having hollow bones. Their limb muscles are surprisingly strong, particularly their legs, which can give a hefty kick.
Language
Their speech is chirp-like and includes ultrasonic frequencies inaudible to the human ear because of the effect that their world's thinning atmosphere has on their aural and vocal apparatuses.

History & Background (Dossier)
As their world lost atmosphere, the Sidurii gradually moved their large population into domed cities. Apparently unfazed about the change, they experienced a cultural shift around Imperial year 0 from venerating the scientists who constructed the cities to a democratic government that vaguely mocked the technocracies of old. Punctual, busy, and competitive between domed cities while socialistic within them, Sidurii value merit and charity, but are arguably self-serving, if polite, in dealings with outsiders. Each city has its own customs and government, with a global, traveling judiciary about the only thing they truly have in common. Females tend to dominate public work, males communal childcare.
Architecture
Sidurii office design is unusual; the whole floor of an office tower is open but divided into hundreds of square areas, each having a pillar in each corner and a domed, tent-like ceiling. In some areas greater privacy is afforded by the tenting dropping down close to the floor.
In general, Sidurii society has a strong sense of privacy, and requires legal clearance for official monitoring and eavesdropping. Social distance is around two metres -- body visibility is fine, but touch is rare.
Naming
Sample Sidurii names include Hi Sonet, Hu Tolsam, Royix Ho, Ve Nuserm, and Wyarn Het.
Interstellar Politics
Sidurii had established colonies in systems across the subsector at the time of contact with the late Sylean Federation-early Third Imperium. Troubled by Gumahl raiders and occasional internal squabbling, they responded well to the expansion of the Imperium and were incorporated with minimal fuss.
