The Shuvalivashtu class Luxury Liner is a TL–15 luxury passenger Liner.
Description
The Shuvalvashtu class is a limited run Luxury Liner, used primarily on routes between industrial worlds and rich worlds. The fast jump capacity satisfies the demands of their clientele to waste as little of their valuable time as possible. The lifeboats can carry the entire ships' passenger and crew complement.
The crew is typically Captain, First Officer, two Seconds officers (one for each shift), two Navigators, one pilot (generally, the captain and first officer will spell the pilot if long maneuvers are needed), a medic, a gunnery command officer, two gunnery weapons masters, a missile battery gunner, a sandcaster battery gunner, chief engineer, three engineering mates, 15 service personnel and 39 stewards. Crew are housed in 1 stateroom and 70 half staterooms.
Passenger accommodations amount to 310 equivalent staterooms, most as doubles with a 4 person maximum occupancy, but 30 set aside as 3 room suites which can nominally house 12 people but usually are rented by a single person. 100 low berths are provided, for bodyguards or other personnel that the rich might want along on a voyage who would have no purpose during the voyage. Generally, the three bays are set up as viewing lounges and casino floors; the blisters are easily modified based on current trends in travelling fashion, for instance, roller blading had a resurgence in the mid 870s and many a Shuvalivashtu outfitted one of the bays with a roller race complete with DJ booth and snack bar.
Basic Ship Characteristics
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (...of ten subcraft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (...thousands of tons) where necessary. History & Background
Economics: Salaries are 188,100 per month. Life support is 702,000 per trip. The mortgage (or profit after paid off) is 10,546,292 per trip. Two trips a month gives 12,138,392 to be covered. 70% occupancy gives a cost of 2700 for a low berth, and 27,000 per equivalent stateroom. Suites are charged out at 81,000 per trip no matter how many people share it, double staterooms at 54,000, and singles at 27,000. If the turnaround can be dropped to 3 days, so 3 trips may be made a month, the cost can drop to just double normal fares.
