Shuada is a vacuum world, lacking any atmosphere or surface water. The system has a population in the millions of sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Khandi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Shuada, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Vliiir Iir.

History and background

A recent Zuchai Crystal find has catapulted Shuada from an uninhabited rock into a bustling, thriving mining center. The majority of the mining rights are held by Sternmetal Horizons, with smaller stakes held by Metallurgias Generales SA and various independents.

The aggressive tactics used by Sternmetal to buy out the lesser stockholders and deny others gaining a larger share has led to increasingly more violent acts of sabotage against the megacorporation. As a consequence, there is a heavy Sternmetal security presence, operating under the pretense of the official planetary police force. Sternmetal has installed a sympathetic puppet government. The tensions have created a market for mercenary forces.
