• This world is always on the edge of revolution as the common citizen struggles under extremely low wages. Much dissent is present.
• This world is also the overall capital of an interstellar government with the massive extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
• It is a member of the Karhyri Worlds in the Syzlin Subsector of Crucis Margin Sector.

• This world-system hosts a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
• It is the homeworld of the Karhyri, a sophont species and minor race.

It is a member of the Karhyri Worlds in the Syzlin Subsector of Crucis Margin Sector.

The Karhyri species evolved from the rough woodland of the Sfyri wilderness.

World Starport (St)

Sfyri has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)

3 billion, mostly Karhyri, but the world receives a lot of interstellar trade, and aliens -- Lamura, Droyne, Kargol, etc. -- may be encountered in many major urban areas. Hivers are rare, given that Karhyri disdain them as lacking in honour.

Sfyri possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)

Sfyri is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. The bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucracy or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence like the military.

Specifically, the Karhyri are ruled by a caste of "servants of honor", which functions as a group akin to priests and administrators. They have been codified by Imperial scholars as a civil service bureaucracy, but they are more complex than that.

Law

Laws (in the form of accepted customs, modes of behaviour and "debts of honor") are strict in the Karhyri Worlds, but society seems content with this well-ordered existence.

World Culture

Karhyri have a socially-oriented caste system (distinct from their biological caste system, though members of each genetic caste are typically found in certain social castes). Integrity and personal honour are essential to their culture.
