This class serves with the 112th Fleet, among others. This design has been around for a long time. They have been refitted and re-classified several times over the course of their careers. The lower displacement hull, in a close configuration, light armor and small power plant combine to make this class inexpensive for their size, which always made the bean counters at fleet procurement very happy. At one point, they carried an abundance of 50 ton missile bays, and little else and were used as a class of agile missile cruiser. The admiralty discarded this concept in favor of a massive battleship class meson gun, which is seen as the weapon of decision. These new battlecruisers, with their light armor plating, and now lower agility were glass cannons. The missile weapon load was dropped to nearly non-existent. The power plant output could barely keep up with demand and fleet engineers always complain that they are a few meagawatts short and that she can barely take it. Eventually, their low displacement, and lumbering lack of agility lead to them being reclassified as "heavy" cruisers, and they were reassigned to CruRons with more patrol missions instead of line combat. This vessel currently incorporates common imperial design features including the standard jump 4 requirement, 6 Gs acceleration, and enough low berths for a low watch. A reinforced marine platoon for orbital insertion commando missions and boarding actions is embarked. The marines are supported by four 50 ton Cutters and their crews. The close configuration hull is partially streamlined for gas giant refueling with fuel scoops and on board fuel purification. The hull is lightly armored, with excellent nuclear dampers and meson screens. There are back-up screens in case of battle damage. There are a pair of Model 9 fib computers.

The current weapons load includes:

  • A powerful factor T spinal mounted meson gun.
  • 10 batteries of triple sand casters.
  • 10 heavy repulsor bays.
  • 10 batteries of triple beam laser turrets.
  • 10 batteries of dual fusion gun turrets.
  • 10 heavy particle accelerator bays.
  • 13 batteries of triple missile turrets.
