Science is concerted sophontic effort to understand, or to understand better the physical and natural worlds through observation, predictions, and experiments.
- It can also refer to a systematically organized body of knowledge on a particular subject.

It is the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural worlds through observation and experiment.
Scientific research and study is quantified through the use of standard metrics.
