Saurus is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other forms. The system has a population in the hundreds of thousands of sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Vilis Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Saurus, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight and a baronet, and the fiefdom of a baron. All three are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This is the homeworld of the Saurian, a Minor Race.

History & Background (Dossier)
Saurus is yet another agricultural planet with a garden world environment. With a relatively small population of approximately 800,000, the world has not been deeply penetrated by humanity, and much of its surface and native species remain a mystery. The lower technology and population limits the local manufacture of vehicles and exploitation of fossil fuels.
Within the Sword Worlds this world is known as Dainslaf.
During the Fifth Frontier War, Saurus was subject to incursions from the Gram Fleet as part of the Sword Worlds Campaign. On 014-1108 the Imperial Admiralty officially declared the system to be a combat zone.
