Sath Alliance

An interstellar state of Far Home sector dominated by the Sath, a Sophont species native to Ch’kaahi (2836 Far Home). Sath were the most advanced species within the Distant Fringe, with a thriving TL5 society, when they were first contacted by far-flung human explorers around 2300AD. Contact with humans spurred the Sath and they rapidly improved their technological base. They had achieved manned spaceflight by 2350AD and constructed their first FTL vessel – using human-built jump drives – by 2400AD.

Sath society is divided into Factions. They are social, political, industrial, economic and military groupings of varying size and power. The largest are huge cooperatives that control enormous territories and have multiple millions of members. Most Factions, however, are extended family groupings with a few tens of members at most. Some factions are cooperative and work closely with others, while some are independent or secretive. Most Sath through necessity belong to more than one Faction.

The Sath as a rule deeply resent the presence of humans within the Distant Fringe, regarding them as interlopers and opportunists, occupying star systems and taking resources that are rightfully theirs.

The Sath Alliance is located in the rimward/trailing quadrant of Far Home sector, claiming direct sovereignty over 16 star systems and occupying the region known as the Hell Worlds. It A brutal war has erupted between the human populations of these systems and the Sath Occupation Forces.
