Saohar is an industrial, high-population fluidic world with a billion or more sophonts in size.
- A fluid world has an oceanic geography of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- It is a member of the Aslan Hierate Kyatulyare Vassal in the Shillelagh Subsector of Iphigenaia Sector.
- This world toils under the control of a military government with conditions reflecting that situation including curtailed civil rights and limited freedoms.
- This is a hot world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- This world contains an Aslan Clan Base, which may combine the features of an army base for ground forces, a scout base, or even a naval base for starships.
- Aslan make up around 90% of the population.
- Humans make up around 10% of the population.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Saohar has a solitary primary star.
- It is a white main sequence.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x4 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zones warmer inner H+ region
- It receives higher levels of stellar energy.
- The world orbits beyond the stars Jump Shadow.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Saohar is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.
- The world is seismically and geologically active.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Saohar has an Exotic Atmosphere and possesses an unusual gas mix which requires the use of oxygen tanks, but protective suits not necessary, but are recommended. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- The world experiences high temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Saohar has 25-35% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice heavily tainted with other substances, which makes it dangerous, corrosive, or toxic. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.
- The water on the surface is unsuitable for use or consumption without extensive filtering and purification.
- Refining for fuel may cause issues with shipboard purification plants.
Satellites:[edit]
Saohar retains two tiny planetoid moons.
- Their surfaces are cratered and irregular
- They orbit once every few days.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, exotic world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Exotic native life. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Saohar is relatively busy. The infrastructure is gradually being upgraded but living conditions are generally poor. Life for workers on Saohar is hard and dangerous.
- The world has been settled by Ihatei Aslan, moving to spinward along the edge of the Great Rift in search of new territories.
- The resources of the system are gradually being exploited.
A number of organizations and private interests are active within the system.
- Commercial traffic is relatively frequent: ships occasionally arrive and depart.
- Commo is filled with signals and private chatter. Communications are in Trokh.
- A number of commercial navigation beacons will be active.
- A few vessels are likely to be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
- Exploratory or survey vessels may be active in the system.
Aslan settlement began during the 1060s.
- It is a member of the Aslan Hierate Kyatulyare Vassal.
- The world falls under the broad purview of the Seieakh and Aokhalte clans.
- Prior to settlement, Saohar was a barren world.
- Construction is ongoing in many areas.
The human population of the world arrived with the Aslan.
- Most are integrated members of society.
- Many are not there by choice.
Note that social data, though frequently updated, may be out of date: additional groups may now inhabit the system and maintain their own culture, forms of government, and systems of law.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Saohar has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Saohar has a population of 1,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- About 90 percent of the population (approximately 900 million individuals) are Aslan.
- Around 10 percent of the population (roughly 100 million individuals) are human.
There is constant demand for labor from the worlds huge clan manufactories, but despite good wages being paid, everything worth buying is in short supply.
Urbanization[edit]
Multiple large cities, each surrounded by smaller satellite communities.
- Cities are located across the world.
- Structures and facilities are sealed against local environmental conditions.
- Regional centers have their own starports.
- Some regions of the surface of the world remain as wilderness.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Saohar possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Saohar is governed by a single Aslan Clan as part of a multi-world polity or pocket empire. Members of ruling clan are present to effect government leadership.
- The human government code listed on star charts corresponds to Aslan Government Code K.
World Military[edit]
Approximately 5 million professional warriors.
- They are used as peacekeepers in areas experiencing industrial unrest.
World Law (L)[edit]
Saohar has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 2 (ordinary)
There is constant demand for raw materials.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 9 (moderate)
- Labor: 8 (hundreds of millions)
- Infrastructure: 7 (generally available)
- Efficiency: +1 (average)
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: B (discordant)
- Acceptance: B (extremely friendly)
- Strangeness: A (incomprehensible)
- Symbols: C (very abstract)
World Timeline[edit]
- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1060s: Aslan begin migrating across the Great Rift.
- after 1060: Aslan settle the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published.
