The Sahib of Alsahiba are a Minor Non-Human Race native to Fulani Sector.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The Sahib are a generally humanoid species: they have a body shape similar to that of humans.

  • Despite their relatively slight stature compared to humans, Sahib are physically powerful. They are known as skilled and capable warriors.

Sahib Sophont Species 3.jpg

They are naturally adapted to similar environmental conditions that humans find comfortable.

They are descended from hunters that ate a variety of foodstuffs, but with a distinct preference for meat.

Sahib were never the apex species on their world: there were many large carnivores that predated them until relatively modern times.

General Physiology[edit]

Body structure: Bilateral HBS-T-AN-LN-N
Bony skeletal structure, ichor internal fluids, leathery hide.

A head containing the brain and primary sensory organs atop a torso that contains the internal organs. Paired legs and paired arms: the arms end in hand-like manipulators.

A typical Sahib stands around 1.5 meters tall and weighs around 80 kg.

They are oxygen breathers.

Psychology[edit]

The Sahib exhibit recognized characteristics of intelligence:

  • Conceptual thought, including abstract language.
  • Social structure, including social organization.
  • Tool use, allowing environmental manipulation.

Sahib psychology is driven by factors common to many sophonts:

  • Acquisition (stemming from the need to gather adequate nutrition),
  • Preservation (derived from the need to continue their personal existence), and
  • Perpetuation (the urge to continue the species).

Native Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity: 8 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: C (xenophilic)
  • Strangeness: 8 (very confusing)
  • Symbols: C (very abstract)

Sahib are considered deferential, calm, and calculating. They have a complex social structure

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Sahib have a long and complex history going back millennia.

  • Although they share an identical biological chemistry to other species on their homeworld their body shape is radically different to any other native species.
  • The Sahib believe that they were biologically engineered to resemble a mythical godlike "creator race" at the dawn of their sentience.

Demographics[edit]

The total known population equals 1 billion individuals.

Urbanization[edit]

Multiple large cities, each surrounded by smaller satellite communities.

  • Cities are located across the world.
  • Large regions of the surface are preserved as pristine wilderness.

Astrography[edit]

This race is primarily located in the following areas:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Alsahiba possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World Government (G)[edit]

Alsahiba is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.

World Military[edit]

Approximately 4 million personnel.

World Law (L)[edit]

Alsahiba has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).

World Listing[edit]

Significant communities of this race are known to dwell within the following systems and worlds:

  • The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.

Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, may already be out of date.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.
  • Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.
