Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance. |
The SH100K class Battle Cruiser is a pocket warship.
- It is a military ship and a Battlecruiser.
Description (Specifications)
It is a vessel with 6-G and J-3 performance with a streamlined flattened sphere hull. SH100K class Battle Cruisers are TL–12, streamlined needle/wedge hulls capable of wilderness ocean refueling. They man the battle line and protect the Sorority class Fleet Tenders. The SH100K class Battle Cruisers, are considered inexpensive in bulk and are capable of wilderness ocean refueling without assistance. The planned 6-G maneuver drives had to be replaced at the last minute by less powerful units, but the power plant array was retained. They are actually more agile than their smaller sisters. They feature good range, especially if the Jump-3 drop tanks can be employed.
- It carries heavy armament and a high performance defensive suite. They have a meson spinal mounted weapon, and light armor which permits their ability to engage heavier classes of vessels. They use their meson guns in conjunction with heavy missile batteries to cripple enemy vessels. The size of this main weapon limited their acceleration. The secondary weapon array is generally regarded as well balanced. They do have some surplus armor plating. They have redundant screens, but lost their cargo space and their fighter squadrons.
- It ordinarily carries two subcraft, a few ship's vehicles, and drones when needed.
- It has a 900 sophont crew and 100 marines.
