Meta-History & Background: 2019-0528

This sector has never been developed in published canon at other than a superficial level.

  1. In 1984, the Vargr (Alien Module) was published.
  2. In 1990, the Alien - Vilani & Vargr was published.

Description (Specifications)

It is a tremendously far off frontier sector, although possessed by the spirit of exploration, particularly among the free-spirited minds of the Vargr. On the coreward edge of Charted Space in the Vargr Extents, the races of Rzakki Sector had determined that a jump range of three parsecs is necessary to traverse the various 'tears' between worlds. This has made Rzakki Sector more welcome to long-range vessels. Three division clusters of worlds alleviate jump range to two-parsec ranges.

Major Historical Events Timeline: 1116

These are some of the more important historical events that have affected this sector:

  • The psychic phenomenon named Empress Wave enters Rzakki Sector in the Imperial year 1033, but the propagating wave front does not strike an inhabited world until 1051. There is little to warn the Vargr of the impending doom and many worlds are thrown into chaos and even Die Back (Di) Trade Classification for over a decade.
  • Virus has a most difficult time crossing various voids, rifts and infecting against the flow of Vargr Extents traffic. With the difficulties of herding Vargr utilizing their racial charisma against obeying Vampire Fleets orders to its crews, Virus does not arrive in Rzakki Sector until 1134.

Politics & Diplomacy (Interstellar Relations)

With 23 Corsair Bases posed against 25 mostly independent and non-aligned Naval Bases, interstellar piracy is rampant in Rzakki Sector. Security Convoys of mercantile ships of Jump-2 or Jump-3 range are the prey of Corsairs who must follow suit if they are to prey on their turf in this Sector. Two worlds are shared by a Corsair Base and a Naval Base. It has yet to be seen if Privateering is a lucrative profession in Rzakki.

Rifts, Voids & Jump Bridges

Rzakki's Tear is the term used in this Sector for the three or more parsec gaps between worlds. The Tear hinders tramp traders and bulk haulers utilizing shorter jump range vessels. The rifts get their name from the Vargr habit of tearing contracts up before employers when the routes across Rzakki's Tear are read on the hardcopy.
