Rrekoth is a rich world.

  • As a rich world, this planet has high-grade living conditions and is highly sought after by immigrating sophonts.
  • Some of the sources of this world's wealth are well known, but others remain a mystery. Many speculate on these mysterious sources of wealth. Some even investigate them... to no avail yet.
  • The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements. The governance of this world is from Ssilnthis (Empty Quarter 1704). It is a Vargr dominated Non-Aligned world in the Flange Subsector of Empty Quarter Sector. 100% of the world's population is the Major Race Vargr.

History and Background[edit]

This is a rich waterworld with a large but relatively low-tech Suedzuk population. Aqua farming is very popular, as is some drug manufacturing and mining, but unlike Ssilnthis (Empty Quarter 1704) and Ikon (Empty Quarter 1602) systems, the entire population lives on the islands, not underneath the waves. The Suedzuk who live here are not as violent as most of the Blood Vargr, if still not as self-controlled as the Vargr back on Ssilnthis motherworld., A careful human who knows his way around these not-so-insanely-paranoid Suedzuk Vargr can survive for a long time among them: the current record is a remarkable eight years

The current target of growing hatred are not human interlopers, but the Gvarghoneer Pack, a Ssilnthis superpower that owns the world. The Gvarghoneer are supposed to give the world independence after 300 years, but are considering altering the agreement to add another century. You can already hear the low growling as the news spreads across Rrekoth... Alvin Plummer. "The Preferred Worlds of the Empty Quarter, 993 Imperial." Stellar Reaches 21 (2013): 62.

The second most populated world of the Ssilnthis Cluster, Rrekoth is a rich waterworld colony highly prized by the Gvarghnoerr Pact, one of three major superpowers of the homeworld Ssilnthis. The terms of the original colony charter set down in 750 grants independence to the Rrekoth colonists after three hundred years.

Aqua farming is very popular, as is some drug manufacturing and mining, but unlike Ssilnthis and Ikon (Empty Quarter 1602) systems, the entire population lives on the islands, not underneath the waves. The Suedzuk who live here are not as violent as most of the Blood Vargr, if still not as self-controlled as the Vargr back on Ssilnthis motherworld.

However, political actions back on Ssilnthis appear to be deliberating the terms of the original charter, possibly extending the control period another hundred years. News of these deliberations has had an understandably negative impact on the morale of the Rrekoth population.
