Research Station Omicron (Location) History & Background (Dossier)

From this research, Omicron produced the SGD-313F transponder system, a theoretically tamper-proof IIF transponder system designed for all ships in the Imperium.

In 1118, Lucan ordered the research station to begin development of a "super-weapon", a form of weapon designed to crush Lucan's foes and bring an end to the Rebellion. By 1128, this research was well along and several of the scientists decided the weapon being designed was too dangerous for anyone to have.

Research Station Omicron was destroyed in 1130 by the Coronation Fleet.
