A Reconnaissance Vehicle is a military vehicle with a mission to find the enemy on the battlefield.

An Reconnaissance Vehicle is a military vehicle with a mission to find the enemy on the battlefield. It may be a type of Armored Fighting Vehicle.
The Vehicles are either aimed at being able to withstand the rigors of interstellar war or the expected level of warfare on a specific local planet. These result in very different requirements sets regarding levels of protection; of information management; and of firepower. Similarly they may be designed to fight for the information or to gather the information by stealth. In the former scenario, Light Tanks may also be used as Reconnaissance Vehicles
The need for speed of escape means that this role can be undertaken by Aircraft.
