Rathas is a water world with a world wide ocean and an environment suited to sophonts. The system supports a population between 100 million and one billion sophonts. This world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Mimu Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Lancian Cultural Region and the Domain of Vland. Rathas, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight and the fiefdom of a viscount. Both are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Mibu.
Astrography and planetology
Rathas is located on the Vilani Main.

Native Lifeform: Ratha
The Ratha resembled in outward appearance, massive terran panthers except they had fins instead of feet and four tentacle- like appendages that sprout from their front shoulders. These, they used to manipulate primitive stone tools and appeared to have a comprehensive language.
History and background
When the Ratha were initially discovered the S'mrii thought they’d discovered an intelligent albeit primitive race in the aquatic Cat-like Ratha. For almost five hundred years the planet was left uncolonized though under close observation but the Ratha never showed any signs of evolving.
By this time the S’mrii had made contact with the Vilani, and through them several other minor races, and had began to realize that what they’d discovered was an intelligent animal rather than a primitive sentient race. Eventually the S’mrii agreed to open the planet for colonization though only in the colder polar seas that are not inhabited by the Ratha.
In 105 a scientist discovered what appeared to be the remnants of a giant stone wall which ran for 20 kilometers before stopping suddenly in the shallow seas of Chukhzui. Extensive excavations in the area and landsat scans have revealed no other signs of civilization on the planet and it is still unclear whether this is some sort of natural phenomenon, something left by a visiting race or the last remnant of a once mighty Rathas civilization. There are still some who believe the Rathas may be the devolved remnant of a once sentient race but this view is not supported by the majority of sophontologists.
