Politro is a rich, agricultural garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Orret Subsector of Far Home Sector.

System Data
Horell-Politro System
The primary is Horell, an ordinary yellow-white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 1.668 Sols, a mass of 1.092 Sols, and a diameter of 1.536 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum inner world, (II) an exotic atmosphere radworld, (III) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (IV) Politro orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (V) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (VI-I) a large gas giant, and (VI-II) a ringed small gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Jowit Subsystem
The companion is Jowit a red subdwarf star that orbits Horell at a mean distance of 68.2 AU (orbital position (XI), 10.2 billion km) and has an orbital period of 539 years. It has a luminosity of 0.0092 Sols, a mass of 0.144 Sols, and a diameter of 234,000 km. (I) a trace atmosphere worldlet, and (II) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(IV) Politro
(IV) Politro is designated the mainworld. It orbits Horell at a mean distance of 1.03 AU (154.1 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 365 days 9 hours and a rotation period of 27 hours. The axial tilt is 21 degrees. Politro has a diameter of 13,166 km, a density of 5.62 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.04 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, with a mean surface pressure of 1.68 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N2), 21% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 63% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 18°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Prime and experiences minor seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans drive across the globe.
Satellite
Politro retains a single natural satellite, a thin atmosphere hospitable world named Murda:
- (IVa) Murda (UWP H454578-3, orbiting at 35 Diameters/460,000 km)
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 545 million km², Water surface area: 343 million km², Land surface area: 202 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Politro, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
- Murda, Politro's temperate hospitable moon has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the subsystem is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)
No information yet available.
World starport
Politro has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level
Politro possesses a Technology Level of TL–4.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone and telegraphs, widespread printing.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Trains and early automobiles.
- Water: Clippers and steam ships.
- Air: Dirigibles, balloons, very basic rockets.
World government
Politro has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
