The Pestilent Sector is considered to be part of the Where The Stars End region of the Empty Stars.

Description (Specifications)

Pestilent Sector is an unexplored region lying within the Great Void. It is an unexplored region: as far as is known, none of its systems have ever been visited by starfaring sophonts. The positions and types of its stars have been cataloged as part of the University of Tal Varisa Deep Sky Program.

History & Background (Dossier)

Pestilent sector is a relatively new name - it was originally called Promise Sector. "Pestilent" was a nickname given by DSP staff after repeated problems with data loss and data assimilation: it has since become the given name for the sector. Denizens of the sector, should any ever be contacted, may not be impressed with their home's given name.

Polity Listing

The League of Asclepius is a medicracy, a form of feudal technocracy led by doctors and other medical personnel. It fights to preserve the lives and wellbeing of its citizens against advances and machinations of The Plague, a sentient disease that is able to hijack organisms to further its own ends. The League of Asclepius as it is described is fictional: it features in the 3V Entertainment show Plague Sector. Plenty of dedicated fans believe it to be based on reality.

  • The Plague is a malign macro-entity that infests the dark corners of Pestilent Sector and craves human bodies – or more specifically human intelligence. It is perfidious and cunning and will not stop until it has taken over every last human.
  • The worlds of the League are relatively marginal, forcing the polity to seek out the vital resources it needs in the wilds of the sector, which inevitably brings it into contact with The Plague.
