• Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
• This world would like to become a major industrial powerhouse in the subsector, but lacks the population and resources to build an adequate workforce and industrial business sector.
• It is a member of the Worlds of The Leader in the Ras Tennol Subsector of Far Home Sector, which is part of the Distant Fringe.

System Data

Inico-Paratha System

The primary is Inico, a dim red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.007 Sols, a mass of 0.331 Sols, and a diameter of 498,000 km. (I) Paratha, designated the mainworld, (II-I) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, (II-II) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (III) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (IV) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (V) a large gas giant, and (VI) a ringed small gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Arcada Subsystem

The companion is Arcada, a red subdwarf star that lies approximately 475 AU (71 billion km) from Inico. It has a luminosity of 0.0074 Sols, a mass of 0.134 Sols, and a diameter of 212,000 km. (I-I) an exotic atmosphere radworld, (I-II) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, and (III) a dense icy planetoid belt form the outer system – orbital position (II) is empty. Both of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data

(I-I) Paratha

(I-I) Paratha is designated the mainworld. It orbits Inico at a mean distance of 0.11 AU (16.5 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 23 days 4 hours: it is tidally locked to Inico. The axial tilt is 5 degrees. Paratha has a diameter of 5,198 km, a density of 3.26 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.24 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Inico cause frequent geological activity. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 0.41 bar and a composition of 87% nitrogen (N₂), 11% abiotic oxygen (O₂), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% carbon dioxide (CO₂), water vapor (H₂O), ozone (O₃), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by the low percentage of atmospheric oxygen and the relatively high levels of background radiation: emission rates exceed 3 rads per hour. Approximately 16% of the surface is covered in sheets of water-ice. Mean surface temperature: -43°C. The atmosphere is slow and minor weather systems driven by the star drift across the globe. The climate is rated as Very Cold and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year.

Mainworld Geography and Topography

Total surface area: 85 million km², Land surface area: 71 million km², Ice surface area: 14 million km².

• Oxygen contained deep within the world's interior is released by outgassing and serves to renew the atmosphere: it continuously reacts with surface materials and other atmospheric gases, gradually reducing the percentage of oxygen in the air.
• Paratha is a Twilight Zone World. Much of the ice is concentrated on the dark face of the world.
• The world experiences libration, which causes the star to move in the sky and periodically rise and fall above the horizon in the twilight region.

Paratha has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
