Built at the vast boatyards orbiting Ekugush (world), this series of Gunboats was originally envisioned as a locally produced class of system defense boat. Commissioned by the original colonial governor from Kamsii (world) they were ordered under the name Enkush Class System Defense Boats. Their true purpose became quickly apparent as their deployment and their role in the liberal application of force, ruthlessly ferreting out pockets of civil disobedience, earned them the name of Oppressors, among the civilians they were deployed against. Originally, this moniker was rejected by the governmental propaganda ministries, but over the decades there was no point in pretense, and the name has stuck. The huge population here means that vast numbers of these brutes have been turned out over the years. They are dispatched in overwhelming numbers to quickly subdue any opposition.

Large for a gunboat, they have a thickly armored streamlined, flattened sphere/saucer shape. They have a legendary ability to resist the futile, but near inevitable dissident ground fire, that their passage often draws. Small caliber rounds helplessly plick off their thick, insensitive hulls. They frequently operate in the atmosphere, hovering over cities, pounding rebellious pockets of insurrection and/or criminal malcontent. Because of their near daily use, in some troublesome districts, it was decided to eliminate missile weapons as logistically impractical. The high energy demands do reduce the agility of the craft somewhat. They are still very fast and nimble for their size. Built to intimidate, they use a focused battery of ten triple pulse laser turrets, in a single battery, to burn down any determined, hard targets. They also bristle with ten, dual point defense plasma cannons; each individually targeted to maliciously assassinate smaller targets that dare threaten the craft. They carry a back up Model 4 fib computer, which is often used as a crime computer to collate data on criminal organizations and track signal data from ease-dropping, while infringing on civil liberties. They carry a company of ten Grav vehicles, each with three crew members. These are often army or commando forces, akin to elite units of military police. These 4 ton vehicles are heavily armed and armored. They are designed to excel at close quarters urban operations, around the densely packed metro-plex arcologies. The "marines" are drop capsule capable paramilitary forces, akin to special response SWAT teams. They use stealthy drop insertions to perform lightning raids, assassinations, snatch and grabs, and other covert operations. They have a one ton weapons arsenal, and a single low berth for holding a high priority VIP captive. This design is basically a bully, and almost completely untested versus other actual warships. The crews are infamous for the false sense of bravado from feeling superior to your victims. It would be interesting to see, how they would fare in a fair fight. Only a tiny number of Kamsii overlords personally command these craft. Most of the terror work is carried out by Ekugushi collaborators and sympathizers, co-opted long ago into the colonial administration in exchange for small amounts of power, and favored status.
