== History and Background ==	
A vibrant world of casinos, stylized arena combat, live entertainment and other vices, Oloe is a popular tourist stop in the Empty Quarter's Alpha [[Quadrant]]. Not surprisingly, Oloe has developed a reputation as a haven for criminals and the decadent, despite Oloe’s extensive media campaigns to the contrary. Most offworld visitors are treated quite well, experiencing many creature comforts at only a slightly inflated cost. The Oloe Regency, the premiere five-star hotel on the world's surface, hosts the subsector's largest gambling tournament, the [[Koevae Tour]], every four years. Although the next Koevae Tour is scheduled to be held in [[994]], many of the hotels in the downport are already booked well in advance.

The economy of Oloe is focused on the service industry - in this case, gambling, contests, games of chance, arena combat, and all sorts of live entertainment. This is also a balkanized world: the pennant above does not represent any local government or military, but the Oloe Gaming Association, who represents Oloe’s interests in the broader galaxy.
