Nyflan's Fern

Nyflan's Fern is a psionic plant that eliminates appetite in nearby creatures - thus ensuring the plant's safety - or just makes you feel happy.

It is present in the Million Subsector (Imported via Vargr Merchants), but its home world is not known within the Imperium.

The fern turned out to be an advantage, and a killer during the Empress Wave. It protected the owner from some of the worst effects of the wave - but they then found eating an irrelevance. Unless helped by others to overcome this revulsion, the owners tended to starve to death in the ensuing weeks.
