The Nolrrgarrai and the Sokhkhun are symbiotic lifeforms native to Lair, the Vargr homeworld.

  • The two species are hunting partners, aiding and benefitting from each other in the tracking down of prey of all kinds.

Physiology & Ecology[edit]

Massing around 100 kg and measuring around 1.0 meters in length, and covered in a dense furry pelt. They have fang-filled mouths.

Diet & Trophics[edit]

The Nolrrgarrai harass chase and harass prey, weakening it, and the Sokhkhun, a fearsome beast on its own, finishes off the prey.

History & Background[edit]

Some Terran biologists compare the two species to great white sharks and lampreys, except that the lampreys in this case aid and abet the larger hunter, feasting on its leftovers as well as subsiding on the blood of the larger predator.

Vargr have long admired the relationship between the creatures: corsair and raider vessels are often named after this interesting biological duo.[1]

Nolrrgarrai can be trained and Vargr keep them as guard beasts, hunting partners, and as pets – they are regarded as status symbols.

Travellers' Aid Society Advisory[edit]

The Travellers' Aid Society (TAS) classifies the Nolrrgarrai as very dangerous to most sophonts and advises extreme caution with regard to this creature.
