New Members

A group of four systems in Natar Subsector that elected to join the Firstworlds in 5598AD.

Description / Specifications

The New Members consist of:

• Ka Min
• Nemis
• Thele
• Vuruna

History

All of the systems have strong historical and economic associations with the Firstworlds and when full membership was proposed all held public referendums on the question. Thele and Ka Min overwhelmingly voted in favour, and Vuruna also agreed, though with a lower majority. The vote on Nemis resulted in an agreement to join but the margin was so close that a second referendum was held – the second result was another yes, but the margin was equally slim.

The integration process to bring the New Members into the Firstworlds is ongoing.
