- A Neural Shield is a device which protects the internal nervous network of the wearer, and establishes a link between armor and the wearer. A neural shield is often a thin suit much like the Combat Environment Suit, that is worn underneath armor.
- Neural Shields are very similar to psibernetic webs, The armor actively dampens damage to the nervous system from electromagnetic shocks or electromagnetic pulses which could put the nerves into disarray. Advanced variations block psionic attacks and repair damaged nerves.
- Some Neural Shields are effectively used as an under suit to advanced armor, providing a neural link to the armor should it be too heavy for the wearer to operate alone.
