History & Background / Dossier

Monodal (1421 Halcyon) is a pleasant garden world with a temperate climate and abundant native life. Monodali marble, an extremely fine rose-coloured stone, is widely sought for prestige architectural projects. Easily worked sources of the stone are nearly tapped out, requiring dangerous and costly quarrying expeditions into the world’s outback to secure new supplies.

World Starport

Monodal has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Technology Level

Monodal possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.

World Government

Monodal is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referendum, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.
