Mercury (SR 1827) is a hellworld, with a vacuum environment in which a population is struggling to survive against an inhospitable environment.

  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants. Survivors often form intense survival skills and tend to be grim realists.
  • A hellworld, with a vacuum environment, is that much harder to survive in. Most such hellworlds have vast temperature differentials compounded by the difficulties of living in a vacuum. Survivors tend to be especially hardened and methodical individuals.
  • This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Sol Subsector of Solomani Rim Sector in the Domain of Sol.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)

Mercury has the most extreme temperatures in the solar system ranging from 400°C during the day to -180°C at night.

The main settlement is built into the Chao Meng-Fu crater on the south pole.

  • Other settlements include a small spaceport, mining operation and the very old Syuki Solar Observatory, now operated mainly as an astrophysical school.
