Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance.

The Mauler class Mercenary Cruiser is a light warship.

Description and Specifications

It uses a 1,000-ton close configuration hull, the partially streamlined cruiser is built for small-scale troop transport and combat operations.

Fuel tankage of 210 tons supports the power plant and provides two jumps. Adjacent to the bridge is a computer model 2. There are 113.5 staterooms, and no low berths. The ship has ten hard points and ten tons allocated to fire control. Ten triple turrets are installed. The ship mounts six triple missile turrets as one battery, two triple beam laser turrets, one dual plasma gun turret firing as two batteries, and one triple sandcaster.

The ship carries two 20 ton recovery boats, one 10 ton assault lander, eight 1 ton land mates, three 3 ton grav tanks, four 3 ton MRLS artillery sleds, one 4 ton command sled, eight 0.5 ton grav cycles, and a 2 ton utility grav van.

The cruiser crew includes: a captain/pilot, navigator, two engineers, a medic, five gunners, 58 flight and vehicle crew, and 159 marines. There are ten assault capsule launchers with ready storage for 90 more.

The ship is inexpensive for its size and takes 27 months to build.
