Description
Designed and built at Dal Hallen for the Rimward Federation. These ships operate within the Far Home Sector. The TL–10 hulls have jump 1 drives and carry enough internal fuel for two jumps, and carry drop tanks with 28 days of power plant fuel and an additional jump as needed. There are in service with the Federation Navy. They are optimized to carry as many marines as will fit in a hull this size. As a result they can carry a marine battalion of 479 marines and a single 2 ton Air/Raft. They have four lowberths for prisoners and/or wounded. They are streamlined needle/wedge hulls and can enter planetary atmospheres to deliver they troops directly to the planetary surface, although this is looked upon as a highly risky maneuver. During peace time they are used to ferry troop formations around to where they are needed. They have fuel scoops and purification refineries, and are well suited to wilderness ocean refueling operations, unassisted. The weapons include eight triple beam laser turrets and ten triple missile turrets for offense. They have twelve triple sand caster turrets for defense. They have a pair of model 4 fib computers and are capable of 1 G acceleration and have no agility rating.
