Leedos is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • It is a part of the Yimin Jiti in the Veesene Subsector of Halcyon Sector, which is part of the Distant Fringe.

System Data

Hulo-Leedos System

The primary is Hulo, an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.064 Sols, a mass of 0.5376 Sols, and a diameter of 778,000 km. (I) Leedos orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (II) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, (III) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, (IV) a very thin atmosphere radworld, and (V) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data

(I) Leedos

(I) Leedos is designated the mainworld. It orbits Hulo at a mean distance of 0.18 AU (26.9 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 38 days 1 hour and a rotation period of 15 hours. The axial tilt is 84 degrees: the northern pole points towards the star. Leedos has a diameter of 6,670 km, a density of 5.31 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.50 G. The world is flexed by tidal forces and is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.69 bar and a composition of 80% nitrogen, 19% oxygen, and 1% argon, water vapour, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 39% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.4m. Mean surface temperature: 33°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems driven by the star and the seas sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Mainworld geography and topography

Total surface area: 140 million km², Land surface area: 85 million km², Water surface area: 55 million km².

Native lifeforms

Leedos has extensive native life. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

World starport

Leedos has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions.
