Laser Sensor
A Laser Sensor is an electronic device used to detect wavelengths of light.
- Laser sensing equipment relies on accurate metrics.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
A Laser Sensor consists of an array of photosensitive cells or photo resistors that change their electrical resistance when certain wavelengths of light shine on them. This change of resistance triggers an alert.
- Laser Detectors are also commonly known as Light Detectors.
- It is a passive sensor.
A Laser Sensor is sensitive to LIDAR, Laser Communicators, Beam Lasers, Pulse Lasers and other sources of laser light such as laser shows at public events or laser scopes on firearms.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Prototype and experimental Light Detectors are available from TL-5 onwards. They are bulky, cumbersome, fragile and really only suited to laboratory work and specialist industrial applications.
Laser sensors become a practical through the development of exotic materials, miniaturisation, and mass production. They are an evolutionary design.
- First Generation Laser Sensors are available from TL-8 onwards.
- Second Generation Laser Sensors are available from TL-9 onwards.
- Third Generation Laser Sensors are available from TL-11 onwards.
A Laser Communicator may have a large Laser Sensor receiver array associated with it.
A ship's hull may be covered in clusters of Laser Sensors.
