Lanth is a nonindustrial world, that requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.

  • In a technological universe, societies without industrial capability generally suffer as nearly all manufactured and high tech goods must be brought in at significant cost.
  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • The world serves as the subsector capital with the significant extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Lanth Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector in the Domain of Deneb.
  • This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships.
  • It also contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling IISS starships and personnel.

Description (Planetology)

Lanth is a non-industrial world separated from the majority of its subsector by the Abyss, and is only accessible through Lunion Subsector or by jump-4.

  • While this is not very important to naval or some scout vessels, its location has a significant impact on trade.
