Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance. |
The Lancer class Corvette is a small military warship.
Description (Specifications)
This is a class of TL–12 corvette. They have 7 crew 3 officers and 4 enlisted. It is a streamlined wedge structure hull. It has scoops and on board fuel purification. It has Jump-3 range and 4-Gs acceleration with 2-Agility. This ship looks similar to a standard Beowulf free trader. However it is easily distinguished by its dual dorsal mounted turrets, and aerodynamic Canards on the nose of the ship. Most of the Lancers owned by the Belgardian Sojurnate are in a decrepit state, with repairs poorly made and with varying tech levels of replacement equipment usually scavenged from derelict or captured ships. Vessels owned by the Senlis Foederate appear to be better maintained and Senlis actually produces these ships in small numbers to support its own Navy. Imperial Worlds and even the Imperial Navy are suspected of using this type of ship as Q-Ships in an anti-Piracy role, both inside but mainly outside of Imperial Borders.
Basic Ship Characteristics
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]

History & Background (Dossier)
These ships have been built by many local shipyards including within Imperial Space. Not really a warship it is frequently used as a pirate vessel which requires that the victim ship surrenders itself so that they can then be boarded and have a prize crew placed aboard as the Lancer is not capable of carrying any substantial cargo. It is of some interest and speculation at many starports near the Out-rim Void as to how the Belgardian Sojournate keeps these ships operating.
