Knights Regnant
Parochial order of knighthood on Regina founded in 119 and dissolved in 151.
History
When Regina’s secular administration took control of the colony’s affairs away from the Abbess in 119, a small group of devout people founded an organization for the restoration of the Abbey’s authority. They called themselves The Worshipful Knights of the Blessed St. Regina, and modeled themselves after the religious orders of ancient Terra. Their symbol as a crowned cross. Originally they were a perfectly respectable, publicly known (and very vocal) political pressure group, but soon an extremist wing began committing acts of violence against ‘non-believers’, condoned, if not secretly abetted, by the rest of the knights. Their methods grew more and more extreme and illegal, and in 151 Mala Foster, the 6th Mayor of Credo, suppressed them. Many of the extremists were arrested and others fled to ther parts of Regina and offworld. The rest were allowed to stay in Credo, but the organization itself was outlawed.
