Kimalad is a garden world with an environment conductive to most sophonts. The system has a population over one billion. This system serves as the capital for the subsector. This world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space.  The world is tropical with a hot, though still habitable, climate at the upper limits of human comfort. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Old Suns Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Kimalad, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight and a baronet, and the fiefdoms of a count and the Subsector duke. All four are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Kimalad.

Astrography and planetology[edit]

Kimalad is a member of the Kimalad cluster.

The jungle floor is home to the Ishupkura, a large grazing beast prized for its meat. Although Ishupkura can be raised on other worlds, those raised in the natural wilderness of Kimalad have a superior taste and texture.

History and background[edit]

Kimalad was a jungle planet until its colonization in -3205 by the Vilani. It was heavily mined using open cast tech methods. Vast stretches of the planet were ripped open to allow the money-hungry humans to rape its mineral wealth. Then the Long Night caused man to leave Kimalad alone. Slowly the planet recovered and the jungles covered the planet once more though the deep scars of man’s earlier occupation were still unable to support life.

Then in -231 Humaniti returned, not to plunder but to live in harmony. Settlements were built on the immense flat-topped mesas. Multi-tiered buildings of infinite hue covered the mounds as the population increased but the inhabitants refused to allow expansion to extend down to the jungle floor. Instead they built upwards forming cities of hundreds of levels, lying precariously upon each other. Monorails link the cities together.

Milieu 0[edit]

Kimalad is the center and power base of the Kimalad Collective a pocket empire which extends from Nipe [now Shidu (Dagudashaag 1406)] to Armiirk [now Liikirba (Dagudashaag 1705)], also encompassing Uumin Duu [now Bastion (Dagudashaag 1507)], Nuunzaaind [now Aam (Dagudashaag 1604)], and Imar [now Daridura (Dagudashaag 1605)]. The emperor, Jyond Quasot, is a master of manipulation. He has turned his subjects into rabid psionphobes with his stories of Guukian spies within his empire. He has used this fear of psionics in order to consolidate his power and eliminate his enemies. He is currently riding the tidal wave of public psioniophobia to war with the neighboring Guukian Federation.

Milieu: 1116[edit]

Kimalad is a major centre for trade and commerce within the subsector and it is claimed that its markets can supply anything you have ever dreamt of.
