A liter is a frequently use unit of measurement of volume used for equipment and robotic design. The standard abbreviation is kl.
Designers comfortable with liters use the kiloliter when designing vehicles and starships. The Imperial standard for starship volume measurement is the Ton.
History & Background (Dossier)
The Kiloiter was first defined as a unit of volume on Terra prior to the foundation of the Terran Confederation. Technologists found the Kiloliter useful as the concept of the Technology Level and standardized ideas about sophont society development began to take form.[1]
