The former subsector capitol of Khouth Subsector actually managed to evacuate about 15% of its population to the Regency of Deneb before the arrival of Virus. The local population lived in orbital complexes that were badly damaged when the Dzaargh Federate took over. The remainder perished in the hundreds of millions, and the world lacked the kind of contingency plan that Mikesh implemented. Most of the system's technology plummeted into the hellish atmosphere of the world below, and salvagers have only found debris and some old TL-13 navigation beacons.
