Khiradu is a poor, moderate population pre-industrial hellworld, with over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants. Survivors often form intense survival skills and tend to be grim realists.
- This world would like to become a major industrial powerhouse in the subsector, but lacks the population and resources to build an adequate workforce and industrial business sector.
- It is a main world which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Iiradu Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector in the Domain of Vland.

Point of Interest: Habitation Domes of Khiradu
The domes of Khiradu support 300 million xenophobes who spend much of their economy on the high-tech support needed to sustain them against their environment: cold, dark, thin atmosphere, and a constant blast from the radiation belt around their gas giant primary.
History & Background (Dossier)
It is not clear why the settler founded their colony on this moon well outside the habitable zone — it is thought they were exiled from some other world. Their energy and industry have raised their population, and let them spread across their world. Outsiders are not welcome on-planet. The people have a gloomy religion which protrays a despotic overlord who frowns upon mortals, especially those non-believers who fail to appease it.
Far above the surface, Khiradu Orbial offers a class A Starport on the x-boat route through the sector, with excellent orbital facilities, repairs, supplies, and stopover facilities. Scouts from the bases in adjacent system can often be found here swapping tales. Gambling is encourages along with other pursuits to divert and entertain. The elite bureaucrats from Khiradu also visit the station, distinguished by their formal-cut grey suits and ornate swords, supervising the running of the station.
During the Long Night this world was named Gankakaka.
