For the defense of [[Kashar (world)]] the emperor maintains several military units.

Their [[equipment]] includes some interesting designs, locally manufactured.  The Kasharic Army has 15,000 Battalions, organized into 30 field armies, many of these are equipped with conventional vehicles.

The Kasharic Marines have 620 Battalions, organized into 6 marine corps with one independent marine division serving as the imperial praetorian guards. Marines units are usually embedded with fleet elements for transport and direct close combat support. [[Gunship]]s are integrated to the squad and platoon levels.  There is a [[Military Base]] in the system.

The primary philosophy to create an obstacle which any potential invader could not hope to reduce through attrition or siege, which would afford the emperor's delegates an opportunity to explore diplomatic solutions.  The mission to to be too costly to attack, and to make it more efficient for a potential aggressor to bypass, in search of easier prey.

Certain field grade ranks are awarded for valiant service to the emperor, appointed officers are always paired with loyal career officers as executive staff to ease their command responsibilities, and to ensure smooth efficient operations.

Army units tend to be bigger and square, marine units tend to be smaller and triangular.  Army troopers wear CES and carry 9mm ACRs with integral 4cm RAM GL in an over/under configuration.  Squad support is in the form of 9mm DS caseless, smart gun LMGs and disposable package TAC missiles.  Marine units wear vacuum suits for protected duty and carry laser carbines with integral 4cm RAM GL.  Every squad has a designator/sniper with electronic optics and a laser rifle.  They also carry man portable, target designated TAC missiles.
