Infantry trained in the speciality of deployment from space (or atmosphere) are Jump Troops.

History & Background (Dossier)

The earliest Jump Troops in Solomani history were Paratroops able to deploy from Aircraft used in pre-space-flight planetary wars. Those deployable from space were available to the Terran Confederation against the Ziru Sirka (and by the Ziru Sirka itself) during the Interstellar Wars.

These troops continued to be deployed even during the Aslan Border Wars during the Long Night.

n.b. While Imperial Marines are equipped for orbital deployment, Marines are generally categorised separately.

The Imperium deployed Jump Troops both in the Solomani Rim War and Fifth Frontier War.
