The Jderveledr class Fleet Carrier is a heavy warship.
- It is a military ship and a Fleet Carrier.
Description (Specifications)
Resembling a pair of plates placed bottom to bottom, the Jderveledr class Fleet Carrier is able to quickly launch its brood of two hundred 25-ton Baql class Light Fighters. As the fleet carrier, he is not expected to meet the line-of-battle ships in direct combat; rather his fighters conduct harassing attacks on the enemy escorts so the line-of-battle ships can meet to determine the winner. The fighter division for Zhodani squadrons is usually provided by four Jderveledr class Fleet Carriers, and consists of 800 heavy fighters organized into 80 groups. These groups are commanded by the fighter coordinator aboard the carrier flagship. Fighters are used for long range patrols and reconnaissance within a system, allows the carrier advanced warning of enemy ships or bases. In addition, the fighters are expected to hold the screen against enemy vessels until the battleships are ready to begin battle.
