IOC = Initial Operating Capability
- The year when a craft or vehicle initially becomes operational and begins mainstream manufacturing after the trial and prototype phases.

Description (Specifications)
The IOC is part of the procurement cycle as a new vehicle, ship, or other item goes through initial research, roof of concept, protoyping, and eventually reaches operational status.
An equivalent end of service term is usually referred to as EOS or sunsetting.
