What is interesting about a [[Ribbon World]] or a [[Twilight Zone World]], is that time becomes fairly much irrelevant. In a normal rotating world, if you stay still, time moves you. Morning becomes midday, midday moves on to afternoon, and then follows night. But a ribbon world, the time of day is a function of your location. Whether it is day or night depends on where you are, not what time it is. If you want to sleep when the world is dark, you have to go to the night time zone.

As a result, Indra has a very geographically based layout. The down port is at the western edge of the island, and is in perpetual daylight. It is surrounded by the commercial sector with shops and outdoor activities, which never shut down as it never becomes night. As you travel east, the sun slowly sinks behind you, and it becomes twilight. The shops have now disappeared and we have the romantic cafes, parks and boulevards where the low hanging sun gives a gentle light, and makes the couples want to hold hands and talk with the heads close together in hushed tones.

Behind the cafes are the restaurants where the sun has now 'gone down', but there is still a dusky light filtering through the air, exciting conversations solving all the universe's problems are happening, and the food is plentiful and delicious. Further east we then come to the all-night nightclubs (which never close as night never ends here), and then at the further eastern edge of the island are the hotels.
