An [[Imperial Cultural Region]] is a subgrouping within the larger [[Third Imperium]]. 
== Description ([[Specifications]]) ==
These sub-polities or subgroupings allow cultural groups with strong identities toc retain a larger degree of cultural expression and autonomy than previously experienced.
* While many cultural regions are based upon racial (genetic) species or groupings, others are purely cultural (sociological) or historical in scope.
* The goal of the program is to recognize and encourage diversity within the Third Imperium.

At one time, a deliberate program of extending greater autonimity to Imperial subjects was being [[institute]]d, but it was later rejected as being too divisive:
* [[Geonee Autonomous Region]] (GAR)
** Never ratified by the [[Imperial Moot]]. 
* [[Solomani Autonomous Region]] (SAR) (Solomani Cultural Region)
** Established by Empress [[Margaret I]] in [[704]].
** Internally reorganized its governmental structure under the name "[[Solomani Confederation]]" in [[871]]. 
** Imperial sanction for region revoked by Empress [[Margaret II]] in [[940]], eventually leading to the [[Solomani Rim War]] ([[990]]-[[1002]]).
** Does not have a present-day associated government.
** Many of the inhabitants of this region remained independent of the Imperium in those territories the Imperium failed to reclaim at the conclusion of the [[Solomani Rim War]].

Most Imperial cultural regions were once rebellious areas before being conquered and incorporated into the [[Third Imperium]].
* As such most Imperial cultural regions are anchored to a [[government]] [[polity]] associated with the conquered group.
