Imikari is a rich, nonindustrial water world, which has 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water.

  • The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
  • It has high-grade living conditions and life on this world is much admired by off-worlders.
  • This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • The world serves as the subsector capital with the significant extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
  • It is a member of the Rukadukaz Republic, a member of the Julian Protectorate, in the Naem Subsector of Mendan Sector, which is located in the Vargr Extents.
  • This world-system hosts a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
  • This world was colonized by and is controlled from Nenkun (world).

History & Background / Dossier

This world saw multiple Human rebellions against its Vargr masters. However, this being a Vilani world, the Ovaghoun Vargr (who respect Vilani culture) could never bring themselves to eradicate the population. Over the centuries, they decided to simply cycle through the Human settlements, tearing down the most powerful until another started being more troublesome. Eventually, the conflicts became ever more ritualized, more of a bloody sport contest. With the rise of the Rukadukaz Republic, the Imikari population was offered near-complete independence, if in return they accepted Rukadur authority beyond the orbit.

For the last few centuries, the world has been a respected centre of military training for both Humans and Vargr.

World Starport

Imikari has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Technology Level

Imikari possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government

Imikari has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. A colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
