History and Background

Originally settled during the Second Imperium, {WorldS|Iisdirrii|Empty Quarter|1937}} is home to the central Church of the Seekers of the Divine Words, where efforts are made to gather and synthesize the theologies of the universe into one Inspired Canon. Once the Inspired Canon has been forged in its entirety, the Church of the Seekers will transform, becoming Evangelists of the Divine Words. However, as the Great Signs have not come to pass, the church continues to revise their work, creating version after version of their Inspired Canon, then producing copies and shipping them offworld.

Approximately 300 Imperial, a Sydite colony ship misjumped while en route to their new colony world and emerged almost in the Iisdirrii system almost an entire sector away. As one of the leaders of the Sydite people was a talented theologian (or perhaps became one quickly in order to save her people), the Sydites were welcomed among the Seekers, and were granted a place to settle in exchange for their service to the Church of the Seekers of the Divine Words. For this reason, many Sydites found in the Delta Quadrant of the Empty Quarter sector are often either very religious or aggressively atheistic, as driven by their own proclivities.

Iisdirrii feels wealthier than Udusis (Empty Quarter 1831), even though empirically it isn’t. It has a smaller population, less technology, a theocratic government and an elevated law level, so the typical Traveller will prefer to give it a pass. But what the numbers don’t relate is the close sense of community on Iisdirrii. It has been said, “Better beans and bacon in peace than cakes and ale in fear,” and Iisdirrii once again proves the old adage correct.

Iisdirrii was one of the Glorious Twelve, the term given to the twelve human systems that stood against the Vargr Pillaging.

Imperial High (Landed) Nobility

Iisdirrii, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of four members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.

World Starport

Iisdirrii has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
